Santa doesn't like my wishlist...

so, maybe just ignore my Christmas wish list post. Santa AKA Benjamin, the other half, fiance, partner...Doesn't think a juicer or a hair dyer is a good Christmas present. So I am definitely not getting any of these for Christmas... insert sad face. He said he'll just buy them for me. So, ah buy them for me for Christmas..sheesh. when we were shopping yesterday I was put on the spot asking what else I wanted. I knew I wanted True Blood Season 1 and 2 on DVD so we found the two in a box set together.

I honestly could not think of anything else I wanted besides a juicer and hair dryer.. and new clothes, shoes, make up, accessories the list goes on really.. Ben knows how much I LOVE dresses so he suggested I buy a really nice and expensive dress. I thought what a fab idea and thought of finding a red dress to wear on Christmas Day. We walked EVERYWHERE! Everything was either:

1. Short
2. Skanky
3. Tight

I swear to god everything in all the shops are like this. Maybe I'm getting old but I was not looking for that. Do you know how hard it is to find a red dress that isn't skanky? There was lots of oranges but no red. I wasn't allowed to buy a dress for $50 or less, so you'd think all my Christmases came at once. But no, of course I couldn't find a lovely dress could I. After dragging Ben up and down all the levels we decided to check out a new store in the city part of Newcastle. There was so many cute dresses but of course not in my style but I finally settled on this dress.

It's a Australian label called Shilla and the dress is called the Pop pleat full dress. The fabric is so soft and it has to be dry clean only... Eeek!
I found this dress in the same store but they only had size 6 and 12 left. Wishful thinking about trying the size 6 on.

I am on the BIGGEST MISSION EVER t o find this dress. How CUTE is it?

My Christmas Wishlist

Tomorrow Ben and I both have Monday and Tuesday off. So we're being smart by heading to Newcastle tonight and staying with friends so we miss the peak hour traffic tomorrow morning. Do some Christmas shopping then head to Anna Bay to see his Mum and Step Dad. Our little shopping trip tomorrow is to pick each other our Christmas presents. Here's what I want

A juicer.... I am planning on doing a detox next month and I need a juicer. PLUS, I've been craving fresh juice for a few months now.

A new hair dryer. You should see my hair dryer! it's disgusting. I don't care what type it is or band as long as it works!

And honestly that's all I want. Sad really I know. Ben says I never want anything fun.. but that's not true. Our sister in law has me for secret Santa and I got her to buy me a DIY fascinator kit. I CAN'T WAIT to show you ladies my final product.

Plus, I want what most GIRLS want and that's more:

CLOTHES: DRESSES
SHOES
MAKE UP
BEDDING
ACCESSORIES

I should really stop there as this could be a looonnnngggg post.

I'll be in action on Wednesday. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. While you're all working I'll be at the beach! HA!

Shopping Local

I live in a coal mining town called Singleton which is situated in the Heart of the Hunter Valley. I like to call it the HOLE of the Hunter. Singleton is one hour drive to Newcastle and about two-three drive to Sydney. So you bet that we don't have many stores here. We do, but like most people I travel to Maitland or Newcastle if I know my town doesn't have what I need. I have a look around town first before making that drive... And you'd be surprised that 7 times out of 10 I do find something.

A few small businesses around town are either closing down or trying to sell... including my work :(
So if you live in a small community, make an effort to look around your town first. I think everyone should support their local community.

One of the local shoe stores is having a sale tomorrow where every shoe in the store is $50! If you are a VIP member (i.e ME) we could go in today and get this offer before everyone else. So I took advantage of it and got myself some shoes and also for Ben as well.

Winsdor Smith shoes for Ben... I think these might be his wedding shoes!

Light pink RMK heels with a flower shoe clips.

This is what I wore to work today.

Top: Sunny Girl
Pants: Not sure
Shoes: Online Shoes
Necklace: Just Jeans

I bought this top yesterday in another local store in town. They had 30% off everything and it came down to $31.50. The check out chick at the supermarket today asked me where I got it from :)

Got my work Christmas Party tonight. I was in the mood butI'm not now... something killed my mood.

Christmas is a time for...SPENDING!

I did my first lot of Christmas shopping today. It normally takes an hour to drive to Newcastle but at peak hour it normally takes an hour and a half. So I was at Charlestown Square by 8:30am and was out by 11:30am. I was pretty happy indeed with that. I won't bore you with what Christmas presents I got. I'll just show you what I bought for myself!!!

I stopped at Strandbags as they had a sale on Bluebird bags. This bag is actually bigger then my previous bag and I am struggling to put stuff in it! Eeek!

The bag was $49.99 down to $37.99

I went into Wild Surf co and grabbed Ben a few things for Xmas and grabbed myself some green Rusty shorts for lazy, relaxing weekends.

Pink Zoo York singlet. It looks more white in this picture.

I went into Dotti and got a dress for my work Christmas party for this Friday night.

Then of course I had to go into Diva and grab some accessories. Got these bangles to go with my dress.

There was a special get two for $15 so I couldn't pass that up.

Ben and I are shopping together this time early next week. I just couldn't decided what to get our nephews. Boys are soooooo hard to buy for.

Have you done all your Christmas shopping?

Dreaming Of Winter....

Someone please slap me in the face?! It's Summer here in Australia and I've been searching ASOS for winter tights and knee high socks. Am I crazy? I think so. I've been inspired by so many of my favourite bloggers from the UK. I am definitely doing knee high socks for winter next year. I've been searching ASOS today for tights and socks. I am going to keep a look out for the sales so I can purchase some of these goodies.

I'm not sure I can pull off the knee high socks, but it's worth a try I guess.

Hope you had a lovely weekend! I'm Christmas shopping tomorrow! Eeeek.

LOVE ETC....

Good afternoon ladies! I've just got home from work and wanted to do a quick post before I go to my second job. I went to my sister in law's Body Shop party the other week and here are some goodies I got.

Below is Japanese Cherry Blossom shower gel and body butter. It smells devine. I originally got it Ben's step niece for Christmas but was told she was in the secret Santa this year so I kept it for myself hehehe.

Then I just got a pumice stone...pretty boring. When I smelt the LOVE ETC.... range I fell in love with the smell. It's fruity type of smell and not too strong. I don't have any day perfume. The ones I have are really strong and only really good for night time when going out.....AND I don't out much so I decided to treat myself. At $36 I thought why not.

This is one of the dresses I got off eBay. It's MINK PINK. Sorry for the BAD photo, I normally take photos at my front door but my STUPID NEIGHBOUR STALKER was sitting out on his front porch... He would most probably see me thourgh the screen door...

I was looking at some other fashion blogs today and made me think am I really a fashion blogger? I look at all these other girls outfits, all the brands they wear, how stylish they are and how they put together their outfits are. The older I get the more simple I get. I feel quite silly posting photos of myself in my stupid little dresses.

Ok, that was my paranoia and whinge for the day.

Eeeek! It's my first shift at the pub tonight!! Wish me luck!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

They Call Me Mellow Yellow

I wore my yellow Primark dress I got off eBay. I had to walk to work today as my car had to go back to the smash repairs. My god I was sweating, not a good look for a lady is it? I kept getting the dress caught on things around the shop at work. Which was pretty annoying!

Dress: Primark
Flats: Therapy
Necklace and bracelet: Just Jeans.

I went into Just Jeans yesterday and I saw that the jewellery stand was buy 2 for $20. I had stop myself from going crazy and buying a shitload. SO I only got two.

My collection of necklaces are slowly growing.

Oooohhh two dresses came I got off eBay came today. No doubt I'll be wearing one of them tomorrow.

It's ALMOST Friday!

Outfits and Wedding Planning.

HOLY CRAP! It's STINKING HOT here in Australia!!! WOAH! WHy is it, the days I have not had a car it's been stinking hot? Sheesh! :)

Anyway, I wore my new Ladakh dress to work today. I've decided not to save clothes for "special occasions". Shouldn't everyday be a special occasion? Even though this isn't a 'special occasion' dress I just wanted to put it out there.

Dress: Ladakh
Necklace: Just Jeans
Bangles: Just Jeans
Flats: Can't remember....

Today I booked our house for the wedding and I think I've found a DJ as well who likes Triple J and not Top 40, so that's a bonus. Yesterday I booked the photographer. Things are starting to come together which is great. So next year I'm ready to sacrifice my social life to work every weekend. I have worked in hospitality so I know what I'm in for. With this extra money I'll be able to get everything I want for my wedding. Arrrggggh it's 11 months away!!!

How are all my UK readers in the cold? I'm sweating my little pores out.

MORE dresses and a new job!

So, maybe just ignore my last post. I ended up getting the job at the pub. I h ave worked at a pub before so I know what to expect. The last time I worked in a pub, I didn't enjoy it as all my friends were going out partying. Now, everyone has settled down and doesn't go out as much now. So goodbye social life, HELLO money for our wedding.

On Saturday I worked at a local fashion store called Milk. All my favourite brands are in this store and I was super excited when Amy the owner asked me if I wanted to help her out during Christmas and the New Year. I raided the 50% off rack and found this Ladakh dress for $69.99 down to $34.95!

I also found another Ladakh dress and I got this for half price too as I did one shift there so I was entitles to a discount.

I love the cut out bit at the back of the dress.

That's all I really have to say for now.
I'm off to the pub for a beer.!

When life doesn't go your way.......

This post is for me to vent. For the past, oh god I don't know 6 months I have been trying to find another job. Interview after interview, I am not getting picked. Makes me wonder, was leaving a Sydney a good decision? But looking at where  I am now I am happy with my current situation, my home situation that is. I am just not happy that I STILL cannot get a job. And everyone keeps saying, "Oh you'll get the job!"and then I don't. Ben doesn't think I need to get a full time job, as he earns enough money for the both of us. But, I want that satisfaction that I'm making money, contributing to our wedding.

I know next year I want to enrol into a millinery course, so the year after I can concentrate more of my accessories brand and make more head wear. It's just next year, saving for my wedding. Do I REALLY want to get a pub job and work EVERY weekend and sacrifice my weekends?

ARRRGGGHHHHH!

Now after reading this, I feel a little better about letting this out. I think if I am having second thoughts about the pub I shouldn't do it. am I right?

Sorry the rant... it just had to done.
