Charity shop, thrift shop, thrift store, or op shop - Opportunity shop as what us Aussies call them. This morning I headed to the three op shops in my town to have a look around. Since I am now saving for our wedding I have to cut back on shopping and resort back to op-shopping. I can never find clothes here in my town, but if I traveled to Maitland or Newcastle I would find clothes.
The first place I went to was St Vincent De Paul's or being Australians we shorten everything and call it Vinnies. I found three bundles of some colourful fabric. The little old lady asked if I sewed, I said yes. She was said not many young ones sew anymore.
1st bundle was $1, 2nd bundle $2 and 3rd $2. I might make some headbands and some tote bags for my etsy store.
I found these cute earrings for $3! BARGAIN!
The second op shop I found these two skirt patterns for 50 cents each.
Two bundles of floral fabric for $1 each.
And these yellow earrings for $1.50
The last op shop I went to I found this bodice pattern with boning. Should be interesting.
All the op shops I went to I saw at least 2-3 people from the other op-shops. Their almost all walking distance from each other. On the way to the shops this morning I drove past this little store that looks very interesting. I always drive past it, but never really took notice of it. It's only opened Wednesday and Friday so I'll quickly pop in before work tomorrrow. It's filled with second hand goodies.
I'm off to the twilight farmer markets after work. I wonder if I'll find anything there!
