Adios Amigos!
I am sitting at home waiting patiently for Ben and my other mate to come home from work so we can get on the road. I am driver tonight so they can drink beers! Fun for them I guess.
So I will be trying to post every few days through my email. I won't be able to catch up on blogs as blogger on my phone isn't the same as the computer. I'll try my best but I will have a massive catch up when I get back!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend. Please pray for beautiful weather for this wedding tomorrow.

Dislikes - Packing
Tomorrow night I leave for my little holiday. I started packing today....If it was Summer, packing wouldn't be as hard but here in Australia we've had very strange weather. One minute it's cold next it's hot. SO I've packed warm and cold clothes. Look at my bag compared to Ben's.
Today I bought a little beach chair... I can't wait to use it.
It only cost me $20.00 from BigW!
Last week I got the box set of the True Blood books. I've almost finished the third one and decided to bring the next three. Not sure if I'll be getting much reading done... probably drinking and being hungover.
This is what I wore today. I was home all day and it was very warm so this dress was perfect for today.
Dress: MINK PINK (eBay), Thongs: Havianas

PIXIE!
Thursday I got a little pixie haircut.... Sick of my hair so decided to go shorter.
Feel like I dress a little more girly with this haircut too. Slightly paranoid dressing down... I look like a boy with boobs hehehe.
I am officially on holidays but don't go away until Thursday night. I might try and do email post's from my mobile. I thought about taking a photo each day and posting it.
Arrrghhh! Have to pack my bag soon. I hate this part.
Watching first season of True Blood tomorrow! CAN'T WAIT!

WEDGES!
As you all know I am attending two weddings in a couples of weeks. To save money and to save space for packing I wanted to only pack one of heels to wear to both weddings. So I bought these heels.
Then on the weekend I found out we should wear wedges to the wedding at Byron Bay as it's a garden wedding and our heels will sink in the grass. I don;t have many worries in my life, I don't have children and I don't have a high stress job... my life is pretty easy going. Being the drama queen I am, I got all worried about my bloody shoes :) so I set off for a wedge mission. My friend Amy and I made a deal with our boys, they can go fishing if we can go shopping
DEAL!
I spent two hours around Kotara Westfield. I went to every single shoe store TWICE! There are seven shoe shops in Kotara. So I finally decided on these as they match this dress perfectly.
They felt perfectly fine in the store. I walked around a fair bit too just to make sure. But after buying them I felt so guilty. I haven't felt guilty for ages for buying anything. I think maybe because of the price...and I'm not even going to say how much!
So yesterday I try on the shoes with my dress and my feet are killing me. It feels like my ankle is going to break. these shoes are too high for my liking! I thought to myself I can't believe I even thought I could even get away with wearing these bad boys! I never choose the right heel... I;m hopeless!
Today I went to my local shoe store (it's all about supporting local businesses!) and found these new wedges that just came in yesterday!
It's pretty neutral colour and will go with everything! I am so happy I found these and they are much cheaper too. I'll be refunding the orange wedges quick smart!
I know alot of people having troubles finding wedges. It really is impossible this season to find nice wedges. I even spend a few hours online and couldn't find NADA!
I should really become a shoe designer!

Jealous Much?
I've been meaning to do this a few days ago... and I just remembered. 10 more sleeps till I am on HOLIDAYS! Here are a few photos of the house we're staying at in Byron Bay.
Welcome to CASA De Playa
All photos taken from Stayz.com.au.
The house is a couple minutes from Byron and the beach is pretty much our backyard. I am praying for beautiful weather as we have had lots of rain and windy weather.
how was every one's weekend? I had a splendid weekend, even if I was designated driver all weekend I was very amused seeing drunk people. Made me smile.... I smiled even more when I woke up hungover free.
I'm looking forward to a busy week. Ben and I are going back to Newcastle Thursday to find him a shirt and I have to buy some wedges... more on that tragic story tomorrow. This weekend I have one of my dearest friends hen's party this Saturday. My bestie Stef and I organised the whole thing for her. Bless her, she had absolutely no idea so we took over. WE'll be cooking up a storm Friday night. Bringing back memories when Stef and I were younger baking every weekend. :)

To Thrift or Not To Thrift...That is the question!
In Australia we normally call it op shopping, but the majority of my readers are from the UK so I'll stick with thrifting. So thrifting hey? A lot of people are doing it these days especially with the global financial crisis, we don't want to spend lots of money on clothes. Me, honestly spending money on clothes isn't really a issue for me. As I've always stuck with a price range that I can handle. I have a very nice sponsor he is called BEN! :)
But next year will be the tightest year Ben and I will face in our entire lives. We will be getting married on the 12th November 2011 and we have not saved one penny YET! So cutting back on luxuries like clothes, shoes and accessories will stop start of next year. Even festivals and concerts will be kept to a minimal next year.
I don't thrift as much as I used to as my home town doesn't have much in the way of vintage and cheaper clothes. If I want something unique or different I have to go to Sydney. Most of the stores I know are the little boutique thrift stores that jack up the price of vintage pieces. I'm sorry but I am not paying over $200 for some vintage dress when I know I could something for way cheaper than that! I simply do not know why they do this? So the next few months I am going to research a few op shops around Sydney and take at least 1 -2 days to find these stores and have a good look around. There is nothing better than finding a bargain. I love when people comment on a piece of clothing an I go "It was $10 off eBay!" or "I got it op shopping for $3". Some people are just amazed when you tell them where you got it from.
Here are a few handy tips I found online for thrifting.
-Always go to charity op shops, such as Salvos, Vinnies, Goodwill etc. The smaller vintage shops ones tend to be boutique style and can charge you $100 for a vintage dress. If you're tight on time this is ok, but if you can find your local church op shop that is run by three old ladies knitting in the corner, BINGO you have struck gold!
-Go for good patterns, good quality materials and either classic or flattering cuts. It's best to go back a few decades. Last season will always look like last season.
-Always know the versatility of your wardrobe, and have a good base of accessories.
- Don’t be scared to get clothing altered. A well altered secondhand suit will still be cheaper than a new one.
- If you think it's a 'maybe', it's a 'no',
Why You Should Op Shop
-You never have to queue at the op shop, and often the conversation between the two little old ladies behind the counter is more entertaining than a night at the movies.
-Your clothing is unique and often an interesting conversation starter.
-Recycling, helps reduce our carbon footprint.
-The thrill of the chase - you never know what amazing bargain lies around the corner.
-Op shopping saves you money.
-It's good to support your community and charity organizations.
- Dress Ups, the perfect cure for a sad day, or anyone in need of some laughter.
I've always found to have time to op-shop and be prepare to look. I think that's the fun of it. Going through all the racks to find one little treasure. There is a cute little op shop next door to my hairdresser. I am getting a little trim next week so I'll have a look then.
What thrifting tips do you have?
After my thoughts on thrifting I decided to go look at Vinnies and I found these sandals for 3 smackaroo's!'They aren't vintage they look fairly new but 3 bucks! I was pretty stoked. I now have black, silver, gold and brown sandals for summer!
Top: Just Jeans, Skirt: Tightrope, Sandals: Shoebox
It was nice to not wear jeans to work. I haven't been game to wear a dress or skirt to work since it's started to warm up a bit. BUT, today I finally did and I didn't get cold!
It's almost Friday! YAY!

So my main aim for this post was to all share with you that I will soon be joining the thrift train!!! Finding something different and unique is what I love the most so I know I will enjoy thrifting again. I have a few special treasures I'll share tomorrow that I have bought over the years. I buy vintage clothes but I'm not game enough to wear any of it.
Here's what I wore to work today.

Spots and Stripes
What I wore to work today.
Black top, Black singlet (underneath), Jeans, Necklace: ALL JUST JEANS! Shoes: Rivers
Gee, you can't tell I like Just Jeans can you? This black top is an old top I used to wear when I worked at Just Jeans. It's very comfy. I bought a white version of it not long ago but it's short sleeve and the shoulders are too big! I wish I had bigger shoulders.
I dislike when taking photo's my glasses have a reflection. Yes, I know I can take photo's at different angles so I can prevent this but I don't have the time and no one to take them for me. I am definitely getting non reflected glasses for my wedding!
Today I picked up my layby from Milk. It's a local shop in town that stocks all my favourite labels.
The soppty dress is Cooper St. As soon as I saw it, I had to have it. I'm not quite sure where I am going to wear it too but I am takingit with me on holidays. I love the racer back as well.
Stripey cami by Ladakh. It's so colourful, it will look great with jeans or shorts. It comes with a tan belt as well.
This top I got from Forever New while I was in Sydney. I love love LOVE this store. Newcastle is getting a Forever New so I am pretty darn excited about that. they have such pretty and feminine stuff in there. I spent ages in there as I couldn't decide what I wanted.
So that's my shopping for a while. Before I go away I just need one more swimsuit, beach chair and beach towel and I'm set!!!
I actually calculated wrong how long till my holidays! It's two weeks tomorrow not three! EVEN BETTER!!!

I've been Shermanated!
I went searching for some killer heels for my two outfits for the weddings I am going to. I've just realised I should wear platform heels as they don't hurt your feet as much. I'm always buying heels with a very thin base, so hence why my feet are always killing. The lady in the store said platforms are better for your feet.
how cute are the back of these heels!! I didn't even notice until I tried them on. The platform is hidden in the shoe so you can't see it. Now I just need a pink clutch!
Ok, this is going to photo heavy. Here are the goodies I got off my friends who used to work at Ben Sherman.
Got a couple of dresses but mainy tee's which is what I need. Perfect timing before I go away! It will be three weeks Thursday till my holidays! YAY!!
Oh, I can't believe it's only Tuesday!

TAGGED!
Vintage Vixen kindly tagged me in one of these posts. I love doing these, they are so much fun!
What's your favourite fashion accessory?
I'd have say to hats or necklaces. Necklaces can just make a outfit complete I think. I am slowly growing a collection of necklaces. I hope one day learn how to make my own with cute charms and pendants on them.
Who's your fashion role model?
Gwen Stefani. If I wanted to anyone in the world it would be her. I love her style how she's in a rock band with some serious edgy fashion and then she can become this style icon the next. I've always wanted to be in a band. I love the way she can wear baggy cargo shorts and make it look funky and sexy.
How would you describe your style?
I think I have a mixture of a style. since leaving school I was more street edgy style, but as I've gotten older I'm realising I would like to dress like a lady in pretty dresses and skirts. I love the funky rock tees with skinny jeans, and then other days I love cute girly dresses with bows on them,... Strange I know but I like that I have different styles I can work with. But I am pretty much all about comfort but still feeling good.
What's your favourite? Jeans, sunglasses or heels?
Jeans by far! My Mum has an addiction to jeans and I guess I take after her.

Who are your favourite designers?
I mainly like australian designers like Alex Perry, Sass and Bide, Willow, Hussy... I like them but I certianly don't any of their clothes as I simply cannot afford them. So I am more into Australian street/funky brands like MINK PINK, Cooper St, and Wish

Who or what inspires your style?
No one really. I look for inspiration in fashion magazines like YEN and Frankie and try to adapt my own style from there.

Would you choose to buy something high quality or make it yourself if you could?
If I wasn't such a tantrum queen, make it myself. I studied Fashion so I know how to sew but that confidence has slowly disappeared.
