Camping for the Long Weekend

This weekend in the land down under is the long weekend.... And I don't even know why it's the long weekend! Ha! But, like most aussies we love long weekends, we count day every week day till it gets to Friday afternoon. Ben and I's long weekend is from Friday - Sunday as Ben has to go back to work on the public holiday on Monday :(

Being Ben's 28th birthday this Tuesday he decided to wanted to go to Seal Rocks for the weekend so we could go camping and fishing. I bought him a beach fishing rod for his birthday, he's like kid in candy store whenever he's in BFC (Boating, Camping and Fishing store). Luckily BCF opened up next to Spotlight, which is a massive fabric, Manchester store. So I'm allowed to go there as much as I want now! YAY!

since it's the long weekend everything is booked out, all the caravan parks around Seal Rocks. So we are taking a gamble and leaving very early Friday morning to go To Yagan Camping reserve...No showers.. Eeeek. I've done it before so I guess I can do it again. Seal Rocks is a beautiful little beach town.

Photos from the Seal Rocks Caravan Park site.

Ben actually wanted to get married at Seal Rocks but there really isn't anywhere to get married so we opted for Pacific Palms which is about a 10-15 drive from Seal Rocks. There's a beautiful lighthouse too where you can get married but you can only invited 20 people to the ceremony and we want everyone there.

The surf club where we are getting married at is getting renovations done so I asked Ben after we set up camp (ha, listen to me talking like I'm already a true camper) can we take a look at it.  It's a year away till we get married but I am so so excited! I'll be sure to share some photo's from my camping weekend.

All afternoon I have been getting my bag ready, I even stress what I wear camping. Comfort is the key really. I ALWAYS pack warm clothes as I dislike the cold ALOT! So trackies, jumpers and jackets are packed.. also with swimmers, boardies, beach chair and hat.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

The weekend

Can't believe the weekend is already over :(
Thank you for everyone's advice about the bag... I didn't even use either one, I didn't even wear my heels and my friend didn't even make it out. It was a early night Friday night but of course I forgot to take photos before I left so in a drunken haze tried to take a few.....

The Saturday got catch up with my friend Natalie. We went out to the vineyartds for some tapas....Mmmmm it was soo yummy! Tapas is the best!

My friends little boy Ethan fell asleep... He's just so adorable!!

I have tomrrow off so I'll be uploading some more stock onto my etsy and made it stores.

Party Time.... Excellent!

Today the weather has been lovely! It's been 26 degrees today, night time is still a little chilly but that will soon change. I can't wait to be wearing dresses without tights, shorts and sandals. Here's what I wore today.

Dress: Ladakh, Tights: Supre, Top: Supre, Flats: Rivers, Necklace: Just Jeans.

My feet are killing in these shoes. I'm such a cheapskate when it comes to ballet flats. I just can't justify spending over $100 on them. I find them all uncomfortable, expensive or cheap. But when it comes to high heels I'm happy to blow over $150 so some odd reason.

I've got four of my girlfriends coming over tonight. My friend Natalie is home for a few days, I haven't seen her since her wedding in March. It sucks she lives so far away :(
We're having bruschetta and yum cha as finger food. Got the strawberries for the champagne, and of course got my outfit ready.

What do you think?

Should I use the gold or black bag?

I found the vintage gold belt from a second hand shop for 50 cents! And it's Italian, I was pretty stoked with that find.

Hope you have a lovely weekend! Thank God It's Friday! Hope I don't have a sore head tomorrow.

Basics.. White Top and Denim

Got to wear my new top to work today YAY!

White top: Just Jeans, Skinny Jeans: Just Jeans, Shoes:  Big W, Accessories: Just Jeans.
Gee, I love Just Jeans don't I?

After looking at the last photo I saw how to back of my hair wasn't done properly. That's the worst thing about short hair, you can never see or tell if you've done your hair right at the back. I know you can get a mirror and check with another but that's so much effort. So Benny boy helped me with my hair.... He always rescues me.

I am being naughty today and blogging from work. I don't finish till 6pm and then I'm getting my legs waxed. I haven't shaved them ALL WINTER. I am rather excited. Though you can't even tell I have hairs. I am blessed with my Mum's Filipino skin and hairless body. She has NO hair on her legs or arms... NONE! It amazes me.
One more sleep and it's FRIDAY!!! I'll be frocking up and having a few beers, wines, vodkas tomorrow night.

Clothes?...Shopping? Sorry no idea for a title

I've bought a few things over the last couple of days. Thought I better share them with you all.

On the weekend I went into General Pants Co whilst I was in Newcastle. I used to OBSESSED with this store. I bought most of my clothes from there for a few good years. So obsessed I tried to even get a job there. I love all the street and edgy brands they have in there. They have gone a bit wanky and a little too trendy.  I extremely dislike guys in skinny tight jeans and those ridiculous canvas shoes, OR short shorts above the knees. Just looks silly on most males. Anyway, I bought two super cute dresses from General Pants.

They are both very short! I am wearing the cream dress Friday night and I'm really excited as it's so cute on. I love the print of the second dress. The dresses are a brand called 'Don't Tell Amanda".

White top for work from Just Jeans

Another top from Just Jeans for work.

At Just Jeans they have a buy 2 for $20. I got this cute key necklace.

gold bangles to wear on Friday night.

A bracelet that goes with my pink top. I had another necklace but it broke :(

One of my girlfriends that lives in Darwin is back home for a few days so we're heading out. I can't wait to wear my new dress!

No more shopping for me for a while.

First Day a Success!

I cannot wipe the smile off my face tonight! I set up a facebook page for pipCQ designs last night and I've got 44 likes so far. You know why? Because I live in a small town and everyone talks! So I guess there are benefits of living in a small town, especially when you grew up here as well. Feels kind of surreal that people I am not friends with in my town like my products. It sounds odd me saying that as I have complete strangers following my blog, but I don't know just feels surreal.

Today I got four sales!! which I got so excited about. All four were friends but it's still exciting. I feel happy they want to buy my little creations.

Here are some the items I sold today.

Well, that's Monday almost over..PHEW! I feel this adventure is going to make me very happy. I really think I've found something I really love doing and something I know I am good at it. I find it hard to admit that I am good at something, so I must be onto something here.

If you're on Facebook please check out my page and say hi! I might even get a Twitter! ...thought I would EVER say that.

Thanks so much to all my favourite bloggers/followers who have supported me I really do appreciate it!

Etsy and Made It Stores OPEN!!!!

Good Evening Ladies! After a week of taking photos, resizing, sorting out descriptions my etsy and made it stores are both open.

Australian bloggers/followers I intended on just having my etsy store for international buyers but I decided to include Australian postage as well. The made it store is for Australian buyers only. I've tried to make one of everything so each store gets the same thing. There are a few things that won't have two items so you'll feel extra special.

SO please check out either links!

Polka Dots - Outfit Post

I haven't done a outfit post for a while. I've been wearing jeans and tops for the past few weeks, which is very odd of me. But decided to wear a dress to work.

Dress: Dotti, Long sleeve tee: Supre, Tights: Kmart, Gold shoes: Rivers, Necklace: Just Jeans, Bag: bluebird.

The back of the dress has a cut out, but I forgot to take a photo of that.
tomorrow I'm heading to Newcastle for my monthly hair trim.... I love when it gets cut feels nice and fresh. It's Ben's 28th birthday in a  couple of weeks so I'm going to hunt around for some clothes for the poor sod. he whinges about having no clothes so I guess I better buy him more. It's probably the best thing I can do...SHOP, SHOP AND SHOP. Might look for a few things for me as well.

OH! Forgot to tell you all yesterday. A few months ago I applied for a manager position at a local Surf shop in town. No one ended up getting the job as the manager decided to stay...WELL she's now decided to leave AGAIN! So I got a call up asking if I was still interested...I'm still undecided but I still said yes. It won't hurt I guess and I won't know if I ever got the opportunity. So good news, I don't have to re-apply or have another interview. A lot of people around town are saying I'd be perfect for the job. As a ALOT of people didn't really like the previous manager and that's why no one goes in there. And I can totally change that!!! I dislike going in the store as no one says hello, or smiles and asks you for help. Being in retail for over ten years I know what's to be expected. I know you're thinking Surf shop? But I worked in one for three years whilst studying fashion in Newcastle. So I know all the brands and you can get some pretty funky skate wear too.

I keep thinking positive for once. I keep talking like I've already got the job. I'm in hard place. this is why I decided to start making my own accessories as I knew I wouldn't be able to find a decent full time job in my home town. But I guess I can still do both.. SEE, I keep talking like I've got the job! It's bad.

I find out next week. Wish me luck!

Have a fantastic weekend.

Please stay tuned this weekend as my etsy store will be up and running!

YAY!

Let's catch up!

Why hello peoples! It's been a few days. I've been busy getting my etsy and made it stores up and running. I SHOULD have everything ready to go by the weekend. I am going to let all my favourite bloggers know first before I set up a Facebook page for all my friends and family to see. I;m slightly nervous because a few people have been asking me and want to take a look and buy! Eeeek! I just get excited making them, then the selling bit is so much work but hey it's what I want to do!

Ok, so the weekend I headed to the Funk n Grooves festival with my friend Corrine. I didn't get many photos....

this band is called Samba Frog. They were the second band to play and we thought they should've been at a later time. They are local band too, from Newcastle. I loved the girls dancing in their sexy costumes.

First photo of us at the start of the day.

One of my favourite Aussie acts, Resin Dogs.

I ran into a friend Sally whilst watching Resin Dogs

Last (nice) photo us us. Corrine has more but we don't look very presentable. I had the best day with her. We experienced the funniest day ever that cannot be shared as it's a little naughty but let me tell you we laughed all night long!

FINALLY got to ride my bike to the corner shop Tuesday.... It;s Magpie season and I got swooped! I screamed my little lungs when I saw the bird... flaming birds!

I participating in Gracie's from graciebellabutterfly blog her "Just because your lovely"swap. My swap partner was Kelle from Green Tea and Red Nails. Kelle has a awesome blog so please go check it out. WE were very similar in tastes as we like to op shop, write letters and be crafty. I got my package on Monday so I was very happy indeed!

I got Minnie mouse stationary set, stickers, book mark, hello kitty note pad, eraser, make up bag/pencil case, earrings, postcards and a cute brooch. If your reading this Kelle thank you so much! It's nice to finally receive a package within a swap! Oh and a pen as well that I have been using to death since Monday!

Anyway that's me for now. My main aim is to get my online stores up by Sunday as it's my only whole day off this week so might as well utilise it.

Ya Nutcase!

I got my Nutcase helmet on Wednesday. I look so funny with a helmet but "I love my brain". Thats the Nutcase motto that is on the back on the helmet. I took this photo at work as I get all my parcels delivered to work., and I sent this to my bestie Corrine.

Corrine then decided to show EVERYONE at her work my photo....BITCH! :)
That day at work I kept texting Ben telling him to do a check through of my bike as the store don't put it together properly. Luckily he did, Ben said the pedal was hardly one...PHEW! He laughed when he saw me with my helmet on as he hasn't seen me wear one before.

Today I am going to music festival called Funk N Grooves. My partner in crime is my other bestie Corrine. I love when it's just us because I know we always have fun together. Last year it was Corrine and my one and only Stefi but she couldn't make it :( so if you're reading this Stefi we will miss you.

Here are my necessary items for today.

Hat, bag, hip flask with vodka and tickets.
Because this is out at the vineyards there will be champagne and wine there so we're bringing an esky with some nibbles and so we can keep our wine cool. I love how we can bring our own esky to a festival.

Hopefully I won't be too drunk to take photos and share with you ladies.

Have a lovely weekend!

That is all for today ladies.... I'm off to cook dinner. Thai beer stirf fry, YUM!
