Etsy and madeit.com.au stores ALMOST ready

Today was a very happy and exciting day for me! My business and jewellery cards FINALLY arrived. I didn't realise how much work it is with the etsy and madeit stores...meaning working out prices, postage, fees etc. But hey it's worth it for me as it keeps me motivated, busy and creative. Take a look at the jewellery cards.

I have no time this week to do much with my online store as my roster keeps changing ( the wonders of being casual.....NOT) and the next three weekends I have bloody things to do.....Guess this will be Spring and summer lot's of parties, socialising and catching up with family.

Today I wore my new top from Dotti.

Bit of an awkward pose there. I had my keys in my hand so I had to think quick....

Anyhow that's me for now... I was really excited starting this post but now I am less motivated and pissed off. I thought I was working half day tomorrow but I have to work Full day now :( No taking photos for my etsy.

Spring is almost here!

Three more sleeps and it will be SPRING!!! YAY! The wind has finally settle today and it was a beautiful sunny day. I thought once the windy weather finishes I could walk to work...BUT start of Spring is Magpie season!!! Magpies at the start of spring are very protective of their nests and babies so if you walk anywhere near a tree with nests you'll get swooped. It's the funniest thing ever to see someone get swooped but when it;s you it's not funny at all.

Here is my outfit from Friday. I hadn't got around to posting it Friday night.

I bought the tapered black trousers a few months ago and I never felt comfortable in them. Once starting the 6 week challenge I still haven't lost any Cm's but when I put them on I felt more comfortable for some reason. They are very lightweight so they'll be better for when it's hotter.

Shrug: agent ninetynine, White L/S top:  Jay Jays, Black Trousers: Gosh Celebrity, Shoes: Big W and Necklace: Just Jeans

Yesterday I went into Dotti and bought two new tops.

I loved the lace on the armholes. Only $9.95.

Decided to buy colour and not black. I especially liked the sleeves on this one as well. This one was $19.95.
Sorry for the wrinkles, I was too lazy to iron it. I'll probably wear this top to work this week.

Argggghhhh Monday tomorrow!!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Daffodil Day - Cancer Council

Tomorrow in Australia is Daffodil Day. If you have a mother, father, sister, brother, or best friend, there's every chance you'll be touched by cancer.

Daffodil Day in 2010 is on Friday 27th of August.
It’s a day for all of us to give hope for a brighter, cancer-free future for ourselves, and for those we love. Daffodil Day merchandise is on sale throughout August, and you can donate to Daffodil Day at anytime. *taken from the Daffodil website*

Daffodil Day is important and special to me as Ben's Dad passed away to cancer August 16th 2001. Ben and his family found out he had cancer half way through 2000 in our last year of high school. Ben I had been going out for 6 months and by this time finally getting close...(I'm telling you it took us 6 months to actually talk to each other). The next year was the toughest year of my life. Once in my life it wasn't about me it was about Ben. There were times I couldn't see him, the times when Ben's sister husband and I cooked and cleaned up after dinner so they could spend as much time with their Dad. This definitely made us so much stronger and I think that's why we have lasted this long together. I didn't know Ben's Dad that well enough but he was a nice man.
I'll never forget the phone call from Ben in the afternoon saying he's Dad will probably pass away that night. Ben's sister was a nurse and she was looking after him in the family home. Later that night my house phone rang and it was Ben crying. I wanted to drive back home but Ben didn't want me to. He didn't want to lose me as well.
His funeral was my first ever! The church was packed and there were even people standing at the back of the church, on the sides and outside. He was a very popular and liked man. I see where Ben and his brother get it from. I remember walking down the church seeing school friends...school friends I wasn't even friends with but came for the support.
Ben still talks about his Dad, which is great. Ben's Mum is re-married to lovely and funny man Bruce. I love listening to all the funny stories about their Dad. I hope Ben will become the great Father he was to him when we have kids.

So if you live in Australia please buy a daffodil or any other merchandise to support the cancer council. It's for a great cause!

Phew...that was hard. I always get teary thinking about it and even what it would feel like if parents passed away.

Nope...no title here....no inspiration.

Sooooo I really couldn't think of a title for tonight's blog. I haven't really been doing anything exciting and I have no exciting new clothes or outfits to show you. It's almost Spring here and it's BLOODY WINDY! Bloody wind...good for nothing! Well for flying kites and drying your clothes on the line oh and messing up my hair. And Ben was going to make me walk to work in the wind!!!

I once again cleaned my sewing room...and moved one thing around.

It won't stay clean for long.

My little work area. I decided to take off all my boxes and storage I had on the table so I had more room to make things.

I decided to move the above table out of the corner so I could put all my bits and bobs on there. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

The famous corner where I hide junk. The big clear box is filled with all notes and work from when I studied Fashion. I can't bear to through it away. Every now and then I go through it. I remember how much fun I had whilst I was studying.

I'm having trouble finding ways to keep my headbands safe I have made for my etsy store....Fishbowl! I am really hoping in the next two weeks I'll have some items ready to sell. I can't wait to show you guys all the things I have made.

Here's a little something to make you smile. Ben has started a new job this week. So the first three days he's had inductions, courses etc. Today they had to draw a few things about themselves and then show someone. He brought the drawing home for me...he's so cute.

How funny is his drawing. He was proud of his drawing of me and my engagement ring. He makes me smile so much!

Lovely BLoggers

Thanks to everyone that commented on my previous post about annoying and ungrateful bloggers. You are all lovely bloggers! Let me make one thing clear.....

I have no problems with giveaways. Most giveaways I have entered the blogger has hand picked items themselves and of course used their own money. Just the certain bloggers that have countless giveaways from companies etc....

Yesterday I headed back to Spotlight as I had a voucher for spend $100 get $40 off. SO I had to go back didn't I? Thanks to the lovely ladies that mentioned I should use the fabric flowers as brooches or gift tags! I didn't even think of that. Thank you so much for giving me that idea. I bought more bright fabric to make more fabric flowers.

I might go make some right now!!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Ungrateful, Selfish Bloggers!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's time I had my rant about other fashion bloggers. You know what really PISSES me off? When ungrateful fashion bloggers whinge, whine and bloody bitch because:
1. They don't have a million followers.
When I first started I didn't think I would even have 20 followers. I am happy with my 149 followers, if I get more well FANTASTIC! :) Yeah people have stopped following my blog but I don't question myself or my blog. Be grateful with how many followers you have...is this a popularity contest? Is this high school? The more friends you have you're cooler? Pffft ladies please!
2. They don't have a million comments from followers.

I was a follower of one certain blog and she had at least over a thousand followers. She was only getting a few comments a post. She then proceeded to whinge and whine that hardly anyone was commenting and that she going to stop blogging. I decided to stop following her. Do we need that much encouragement and attention from others to make ourselves feel so much better?

These bloggers that are complaining are the ones that have a large amount of followers, have sponsors and countless giveaway's! Arrrgggghh! You are clogging up important space where I could be reading other important blogs that actually are blogging because they love doing it. Not for followers and countless compliments and checking your google analytics constantly.

This is been on my chest for quite some time. I thought that everyone had their viewed on blogging and theres bloody mine!!!

'Parlez-Vous Francais?'

Tomorrow night I am heading to Newcastle Uni to watch an aussie band called Art vs Science. They are one of my new favourite aussie bands to add onto my huge list of aussie artists. Above is the name of one of their songs that made them big in Australia. I haven't had the chance to see a whole show...I saw them In Melbourne in Febraury and I got to see the last two songs :(
The one before that they were playing at the Cambridge in Newcastle and it sold out and I had high hopes we were getting in...but I was in huge denial. Tomorrow nights show sold out and I glad we got tickets.
Either people hate them or like them...yeah so their songs aren't meaningful and change the freakin world. They make fun music that makes me want to DANCE!

Check out their myspace... Art vs Science. I tried to upload the video clip but it was playing up.

I think I am giong to wear my butterfly top/tunic.

I will dress it down with jeans, my flat boots and black blazer. Bought a cute little shoulder bag so I can fit my little hipflask with vodka hehehehe.

Casual Tuesday...More like "Couldn't be bothered"

I had one of those days where I just wanted to be comfy.....This is what I wore to work today.

Blazer, top, jeans and necklace are all from Just Jeans... and shoes from Big W.

I started another six week challenge yesterday through the gym. I can barely keep my eyes open as I woke up at 6am to go to the gym. And my god did the instructor work me to the bone. So I don't really have much to say...me tired.

I made alot of cute earrings today too! I can't to start this bloody etsy store..it's killing me!

Getting my Craft on!

HEELLLOOOO!! how was everyone's weekend? Mine was fairly quiet..I went to Spotlight and spent $120 fabric, glue, bits and bobs... whoops. Then I decided to quickly stop in at Dotti and spend another $90 buying a new top for work (I really needed it, no really I did) and surprise surprise a dress I had been eying off for AGES. It was on sale so I HAD to get it. I'll wear it to work sometime this week so I'll post up pic soon. Here's my new top from Dotti I wore to work today. I love the sleeves on it.

I had to take my glasses off asI hate the reflection as it looks like I have a million eyes or even no eyes. I'm really disliking my hair at the moment too. I am chopping it off this Thursday. I told Ben last night I am not growing my hair for the wedding now and he said he likes it short anyway.

Soooooooooooo here's a look at what I've been making for my etsy store.

Above are some satin and organza flowers I've been working on.

Above is a necklace I am experimenting with. Decided I shouldn't use a hot glue gun for the necklaces. Will need glue in a bottle for easy application.

Above are some fabric flowers i tried to experiment with. I don't like how they turned out and I made a few of them!! So I am scrapping them.

So yeah, there's a little insight on what I'm working on. I have been giving the hard word from Ben to stop spending money. All this money should really be saving for our wedding and the holiday we're going on in November. So I have to ban myself from buying more supplies off etsy...but it's just so god dam hard!!! Still have sooooo much of supplies to turn up. Please hurry up.

Next week I won't have car :( Ben starts a new job so that means not having a work ute anymore and he has to drive my car...boo hoo! Ben has a car but it's lame high performance mumbo jumbo car so whenever I drive it 9 times out of 10 I get pulled over by the police asking me questions about the car. Sheesh! so that means walking to work...probably takes me 20 minutes to walk to work and it's all flat, no hills or anything. But with this wild wind we get through August and September I am not looking forward to walking to work. Ben was going to fix my friends bike for me but he laughed saying I "dress up to the nines" when I go to work! HA! What's wrong with looking nice everyday! I would look funny riding a bike to work inn a dress ..hehehe.

Short hair and headbands???

So what do you think? Can girls with short hair like ME where headbands? Why should we miss out?

http://www.elle.com/

I'm going to make a few headbands this weekend so I'll give them a trial and show you ladies.

I am thinking about going shorter next week when I get my haircut...

Posh just looks so chic doesn't she? My hairdresser will be happy I won't want to grow it anymore. Short is just so easy and I love it!!!

What do you think?

Hope you have a fab weekend. I have the whole weekend off all by myself. Fabric shopping and creating lovely accessories is on my agenda this weekend.

Happy Birthday Blog!

Ooops, I just realised this morning that it surely should be over a year since I started this blog...and yes I was right. The 23rd of July was it's birthday!

Awwwww Happy Birthday blog, I am very sorry I have forgotten your birthday, I am a very bad blogger.

Who would of thought I'd still be blogging. I still can't believe it's been a year already. I was thinking about doing a giveaway, but I'll wait till I made some cute accessories for my etsy and madeit.com.au stores and let some lucky winner grab some pipcq creations for themselves.

So a big THANK YOU to all my lovely readers who come back daily, weekly or monthly. I'm so lucky to have you all as my "blog friends". It's amazing how positive and friendly you all are. I think starting this blog has been the best thing that has happened to me....I'm not sure what else I would be doing..probably on facebook more. But I definitely spend more time here now.

I have had the worst day today. You know those days where everything goes wrong...got home looking forward to a beer and I smashed my beer on the floor :(
PMS is slowly creeping up on me. Poor Ben has had T-Rex walk through the door...I'm picking at everything...I just want to fight hehehehe. I feel for the poor man.

Creative or Crafty

Here is my little work space in my kitchen from yesterday while I was getting creative or as Ben would say CRAFTY!

I bought some storage containers for my supplies. there's not many as of yet, but I will slowly build it up.

I've ordered alot of glass pendants so I'll have to wait 2 weeks for them. Over the weekend I will try to get organise and take a look at what I need.

I am slightly worried about all these little creations I am making. There is one particular person from my town that was in the same year as me at school (but at the other high school) that has started her own little brand of making bows for children. She copied another lady (and  I mean copy to a T) that stocks bows that are in my work....I really don't want her seeing my stuff...Is this selfish or am I being over protective?  I really wanted to set a page on Facebook once it's up and running to network more. I'll have to think about this more.

I can't keep my eyes open......

Goodnight!

Pendants, Dresses and Pretentious Arseholes!

Well well well..look who's a little late from blogging about the weekend.....Mmmmm. So Saturday I headed to Newcastle to have yummy cocktails with my girlfriends. Before I headed to Newcastle I stopped at a local shop in town called Milk Fashion. Amy who owns the store has started to get in beautiful dresses for Summer and I couldn't help myself. I bought two dresses but left one at the store and I took one home. Amy lets me take the clothes on the spot and I can pay it whenever I want. I don't like doing this as I forget to pay her. So on purpose I left one dress there on lay by and it is the cutest dress EVER!!! i can't wait to show you ladies. Here is the one I took home.

It's a Australian brand called Azuki and it was $89.99. I know extreme but I love dresses. The length is just above the knee so it will look good with ankle boots or cute flat sandals.

So on our way to Newcastle we stop at Maitland so I can find a dress for the night out. I found this little number at Dotti. My friend Corrine was with me and she gets annoyed I can walk straight into a shop, find something, try it on and BAM it fits. I don't muck around when I'm shopping.

On the side it has two pleat flaps...it's so cute!!! I can't wait to wear it again.

So late afternoon we start making and drinking cocktails.

The mess after the cocktails

So the four of girls go out, pretty keen as we hadn't been out in Newcastle for a while. We went to this new well it's not new anymore... but a new area in Newcastle called Honeysuckle with new bars. Don't get me wrong they are lovely places, but just the people. Pretentious ARSEHOLES (sorry for the swearing) EVERYWERE! We didn't even stay out for very long. I'm not sure if we're getting old, or because it was cold I just didn't enjoy myself. But if it was Summer we would of had more fun. We got one photo though...

So, no more going for me in Newcastle unless I am going to gig or it's Summer time.

Started making some test pendants for my etsy and madeit stores.

Sorry for the crappy photo, I'll take more tomorrow.
