Interview Outfit

Went shopping to find a dress for my interview tomorrow. I was going to wear pants but then I would of had to buy a top too. So a dress was ideal, plus you all know how much I love dresses. I went to a few places around town but then settled on this dress. I bought some accessories from Big W to go with the outfit.

Dress was only $34.00 on sale. Got some earrings and bangles from Big W (forgot to put the bangles in the photo). Necklace is from Just Jeans, I figured because it's a accessory store I am trying to get a job at I better wear accessories. And I'm wearing heels, I feel like such a lady in heels. I don't wear heels very much, I'd like to more often but flats are so comfy.

Eeeekkk wish me luck! I'll be reading over my interview questions and answers tonight.... I still haven't heard from the other job so... who knows where this will take me.   

The Hangover

So.. I know it's Tuesday night but here are some party pics from my Friday night. My bestie Stef was up from Sydney so we do what we do best and party at her parents place. They have a bar area out the back and it's the ultimate party place. I pretty much spent all my childhood there, I always have a good time whenever I am there. I like to have the occasional drink but because it was like a mini reunion (plus some of the girls are Mum's so they have to make the most of night out) I just went hard and drank way too much. I haven't woken up with a hangover that bad in a loooooooooong time.

I am not... I repeat I am not drinking vodka AGAIN!

Bought some killer HOT pants online today.. Will show once I get them in the mail.

Got another interview this Thursday, will be posting up some outfits for you guys to give me advice.

One interview down..another to go.

Had my first interview as a new job seeker today. I was so nervous, but I had nothing to worry about as I know the people who own the surf shop so it was pretty casual and they made me really relaxed. I am actually doubting myself about being a manager at this certain store. Isn't that weird? I don't know what it is, but I just have some gut feeling about it. But it'such a great opportunity! They are calling me next week to let me know either way.

THEN, this afternoon I get another phone call for another interview. I applied for another store manager position at a store called eQUIP. It's a accessory shop....ooooooh imagine all the accessories I could have? But this store is in another town which is a 40 minute drive and this doesn't phase me as my home town really doesn't have much job opportunities unless you want to drive coal trucks in the coal mines.  

So... now all I do is play the waiting game really. Realistically the job in my town would be ideal right? So I'll keep you all posted next week.

Job Interview-What to wear...HELP!

This morning I got a call for an interview for the retail manager position at surf/skate shop in town. I haven't worked in a surf shop since I was studying so I really don't have much of the brands in my wardrobe. I only have two tops..... I have created two outfits, PLEASE PLEASE let me know what you think.

You have to remember I'm not going for business job or anything fancy, so sticking to the style of the store will make me stand out abit more I guess.

The white singlet is a brand called Volcom which is a skate brand.

The Wedding Singer - The Musical

I don't have much to report for today... I had the day off so my outfit really wasn't that exciting. Tonight my two girlfriends and I watched one of our very talented friend Rhiannon in a local drama production of the Wedding Singer.

We are so proud of her, she did an amazing job! Lots of celebration drinks when it's all finally over for her.

Good evening bloggers and readers! It's Monday night and I am feeling great! I had a fantastic weekend in Sydney and for once I came home fresh and not hungover. Before I left Sydney I had to quickly stop in at Chatswood Westfield and buy at least one thing! I found this dress for $19.95 to yes, where to work.

Once I save cash for some serious retail therapy I will be visiting the brand Princess Highway.... Oh.. this brand just screams my style and I found so many cute and quirky dresses. But, good things come to those who wait...well that's what Ben says to me....

Outfit of the Day

Winter is definitely here! It was sooo cold this morning, OK not like cold in the UK but it was still cold. I had two pairs of socks with my boots. I get cold so easily especially at work, by 2pm I have finally thawed out. I decided to wear one of my altered dresses that I turned into a top.

Dresses into Tops

Today I did some little alterations on two dresses and turned them into tops to wear to work. I mainly wear dresses to work as they are just comfy and easy. I wear jeans to work as wel, but I'm constatnly pulling them up, not fun!

I bought the dress above from a local thrift shop in town. I can't remember how much it was. It looked like a mui mui on me, no shape about it at all. But now I've shorten it I can wear it with jeans.

This next dress I forgot to take a before shot. It's the most hideous dress ever, I looked like a witch in it and only realised until the other week. I shorten it, and it will look great with jeans and flats.

I had another eBay impulse over the long weekend. I saw this cute Mink Pink dress and notice no one had bidded on it so I decided too.

Can you tell I like black and dresses yet? :)

Fingers and toes crossed please!

Ok, so if you don't already know I have been looking for another job. In the local paper is a position going at a local surf shop in my town for a retail manager. I saw it and didn't bother to apply for it as I don't have too much management experience, well I do but not the proper title of a retail manager. I was talking to my boss today who is good friends with the lady who owns the store and talked me up BIG TIME to her. After a few minutes of persuading, she convinced me to apply for it. It closes tomorrow and I'm handing in my application tomorrow. I decided to blog first to get it out of the way and concentrate on updating my resume and writing a killer cover letter. Ive worked in a surf shop for three years so I know all the labels and all that jazz. Being a manager of a store is my biggest goal and I really hope I reach it..... so wish me luck I really really REALLY want this. Plus I get to do buying as well!!! YAY!!

Yesterday I bought two necklaces from Just Jeans. The sale was buy 2 for $15! I was in heaven and I am going back next week to stock up on bangles and earrings.

Do you ever stand in front of your wardrobe before work and can never find anything? Well that was me today! This morning I bidded on this cute black dress to add to my "work" wardrobe and only cost me $10! But hopefully I get this new job and I get to buy brand new clothes!!!

I can't wait to get it!

Tomorrow's Friday... Thank @#%&! I'll be having a quiet weekend filled with reading my new book and maybe putting some clothes on eBay to sell.

Weekend.........

Hi all! Thanks so much for all the comments from my previous post. I am still not inspired with work or my blog, but I am forcing myself to post something tonight. I had the whole weekend off and was hungover the Saturday and Sunday so it was a fantastic weekend. Had my sister in laws 30th on Saturday night, here's a pic with my other two besties Rach and Rin.

Here is the $2.25 dress I got off eBay not long ago. It's a staple IO wear to work every week. I try to buy set clothes for work so I can separate work from everyday/casual/going out. It's perfect for winter with a long sleeve tee, tights and boots.

And I thought I'd do a shot without my glasses.....it's slowly growing on me but I still don't recognise myself.
