The reason why I don't wear jeans.....

Another rainy and wet day here, and how much I loved it. Even had pay tv installed back into our home, no more boring free to air tv. So what a perfect day to lay around and wwatch ... GOSSIP GIRL! One episode came on so I was in luck. But on my day off on a week day I just can't seem to waste it in front of the TV. Today I pottered around on the internet, the kitchen and cutting out my patternfor the dress I'm hoping to start sewing this easter weekend.

So anyway, I'm once again going off the topic. So we all know I love dresses, YES! But you'd be surprised to know I used to live in jeans a few years ago. I used to dress slighty alternative, casual but with a funky street edgy look to it. But since moving back home, and since working in a childrens boutique my style has taken a turn, but a good turn that I can still embrace both styles. I now know the reason why I dislike wearing jeans...because I have no FREAKIN TOPS to wear with them! I don't like how when wearing jeans, you wear a top and I can just see so many bits of my body I am not comfortable with. Wearing dresses seem to hide the bits of my body I don't like I guess.... BUT today I wore jeans...

Pretty casual outfit today as it was my day off.

singlet:Supre, cardi: K-Mart, jeans: Ben Sherman, shoes: pulp

so my mission for winter is to broaden my top.blouse collection for winter. Once I get enough tops I'll probably do a challenge where I can only wear bottoms no dresses...Will be a tough one but I can do it.

Make sure you check out my Accessory Swap!!! you  can't miss out on this!!!

Online shopping can get out of hand!

Over the weekend I made a few purchases online..oops nothing major but still I'm trying to save. Here's what I purchased.

All of the above is a Kawaii Letter Set Grab Bag off Etsy. I receive 8 assorted Kawaii letter sets!

And this which is also from Etsy and from the same buyer some Cute and Kawaii Loose Memo Sheets. I can't wait to get them!!!

I bought three patterns online, I was going to download and print them at home but I like having it in the little envelope to keep if ya know what I mean...

In a few months it will be Winter here in Australia hence the pyjama pattern. I already have a crap load of pjymamas becuase I worked at a manufacturing company that made pj's fr some Australian labels and stores. It was great, I got to keep alot of samples and gave some away as presents.

Then I found this cool Australian online accessory store called funaccessories.com.au and got two really cool necklaces for $10.00 each, BARGAIN!

I am hoping they arrive by Thursday as it's a public holiday on Friday and I have a engagement party where I want to wear either oneof them... but  I don't think they will make it :(

Make sure you check out my Accessory Swap I have organised! If you love accessories check it out!!! So far I have had a pretty good response! YAY!!

A Accessory Swap!

On the weekend I was thinking of another type of swap as Megan from Time After Tea did a stationary swap in February and March. It got me thinking, a clothes swap would be impossible so a accessory swap would be perfect! Are you thinking what type of accessories? Here's a list of a few things to get you thinking:

Scarves
hair accessories
belts
tights
bags
purses
necklaces
bangles
rings
earrings
hats

YOu get the drift now?

Heres what to do:

Email me at pipalachic@gmail.com tell me the following:

1.Name
2. If your willing to send overseas
3. Your blog address (if you have one)
4. your postal address
5. Country
5. what colours and type of accessories you like.

How does this work?

Once I get everyones names etc I will assign you with a partner and email you their details. You then must send a accessory package to your partner to the value of $15-$20...entirely up to you how much you spend but no more than $20.
Please spread the word, feel free to copy and paste this accessory photo with a link on your blog for other people to see who don't follow my blog.

Please email all details by the 11th April! And then  I can start cracking at pairing you up with partners! Ooooooooo I am getting excited and I hope you don't mind that I am going to participate in this too...it's going to be fun fun fun!

I don't pair you up in pairs! When  I give you your partner's name and details that person does not know you have them nor do they have you. It's kinda of like a secret santa.
I hope this helps.

102 followers, wedding dresses and sewing patterns.

WOW! Who would of thought, well actually I of all people didn't think I'd get to 100 followers. A friend suggested I started my own blog and I am glad I did it. I look forward to each morning when I check my blog to see what comments I get and to especially read all my favourite blogs.  So thanks to all the lovely ladies who I've become "blog friends" your the best chuck out the rest!

Its slowly reaching Sunday even ing and I've had the most relaxing weekend... well you won't think it's relaxing. I pretty much catched up on house work and gave my house a good clean.... and just the usual house keeping jobs. Most of my weekend has been spent on the internet searching for....WEDDING dressses!!! I think I have found the one I want..... I'm not sure yet. Here are a few I found.

The bottom two are my favourites... I know it's not the traditional type dress, but I don't want that.  I'm thinking having a short dress as well... and Í am going to wear a fasinator as well, not sure how that will go in my short hair but I'm sure my hairdresser will arrange that.

I downloaded a pattern off Burda Style yesterday for $4.50. There patterns are great because you can print them off at home and piece them all together yourself. I'm making the theresa dress it's such a cute dress. This time though I will make a mock on up first just in some scrap material so I see which size fits me better. I'll just cut and sew the front and back bodice and the skirt.

Hopefully I have some spare fabric in my fabric box to start one up. I purchased some more patterns yesterday too but I have ti wait for them to get delivered from America first :(

What did you get up to?

P.S I'll have a litte giveaway soon for my 100 followers! I love putting little gifts together!

Awwwww Little Baby clothes!

YAY! It's Friday! hip hip hooray! I finally finished up merchandising the shop today. We also do gifts for boys and girls, for a while there they were seperated from each other so I decided to combine the again.

I'm so proud of it! the last couple of days I have been  really enjoying work it's been great!
I thought I'd share some cute little pieces from my work.

I finally got unpack this today. It's very traditinal and sweet. Mainly Grandmas would buy this type of clothing, The embroidery on the dress is so simple but so cute as well.

This is a little bodysuit with a skirt attached to it. Isn't just so gorgeous? It's a Australian brand called eeni meeni mini mo they are based in QLD and it's has become one of the many popular brands in Australia. They have won numerous fashion awards. It's fairly expensive but it really is great quality, the fabric and the make of it is brilliant.

Awwwww... I can't wait to have children and I especially want a little boy! This brand is called Max and Tilly, good quality at a reasonable price. The last couple of seasons I was actually allowed to do the buying for this brand. It was so much fun!!!

Anyway, enough of me rambling! I've had a few too many wines and won't shut up will I? What are your plans for the weekend? Mmmmm here are mine:

Clean house (boring)
File bills (boring)
Catch up on penpal letters
Blog (FUN)
Making a casserole Saturday night then meat balls Sunday YUM YUM
Try and get some exercise in my weekend
RELAX!

Be sure to check out my new blog My Little Pot Belly! I'll be posting up some recipes soon and in April I will be doing the 6 week challenge through my gym...eeek!! Watch me suffer, go on I know you do!

Merchandising.....

Phew, I have had one busy day at work! I work in a little children's boutique in my local town which my sister in law owns. Summer/spring has finally ended and we are now in Autumn in the land down under. But of course March/April around my area is still very warm. In Australia, suppliers seem to a very strange thing and send out winter clothing when it's hot and summer clothing when it's still cold. So my point being, winter stock has started to arrive so I've been frantically running around work trying to make it look nice. It took me a while to adjust working in a children's store as I am used to womens fashion and the women in this town didn't like the idea of a young lady who doesn't have children work in the store. But my sister in law believed in me and I guess that was the main thing. PLUS I know how clothes are put together after studying and working in fashion so I kinda knew something.  I've been there for over 2 years and I have a great customer base know it's great! Even the kiddies know my name and always say hello! Here is what I merchandise today

Baby Boy

boys 2-12

baby girl

girls 2-12

Here is photo of the shop from the front door, I am still re-arranging so it will look completly different tomorrow. This morning it looked like a complete BROTHEL! I had to pack up sale stuff and there crap EVERYWHERE! I can finally see the floor and mothers can move their prams around with ease.

In the next couple of weeks I am hoping and praying getting back into sewing. I need a new dress for work so I'm thinking about this dress....

It's a nice length, and in winter I'll wear a long sleeve tee or skivvy underneath. I'm all about layering in winter!

Think we've found the wedding venue.......

Hi there ladies! The hubby to be and I checked out the venue on Tuesday. All I can say is..PERFECT! It's right near the beach you can even hear the waves. Here are a few photos, now it doesn't look too exciting but with a  few decorations it will be perfect.

The view from the deck

I am thinking about a beach type theme maybe...or on the sides of the hall have bamboo across the walls. I'm hiring someone to decorate as we are saving so much money on the hall hire, own caterer and alcohol....

Ohhhh I wish it was November 2011 ALREADY!!!

What do you lovely ladies think? any ideas for themes? I;m surprised how uncreative I can be at times like this....

The Wedding of the Year

The weding of the Year was fantastic! I had such a great time, the venue was beautiful along with the bride and groom. Here's a little look...

It was such a beautiful wedding and it suited Natalie to a T! Very traditional wedding it was so gorgeous like the bride. I have another three weddings this year it will be amazing to see how different all the others will be. With all my other friends getting married it feels like a race/rush to see who gets married. We got criticised  by a few friends asking why we were getting in 2011.... Ah because we want plenty of time to save...Geez :)

How was everyone elses weekend? I'm glad the wedding was Friday because I layed around all Saturday and today..back to work tomorrow.

Just a little quickie to say hi and goodbye. I don't have much to say really. Won't be blogging till after weekend. Don't you hate it when you think you are getting somewhere.. After Easter I am officially hibernating till May when I have music festival to go to. More blogging an sewing should be in order for autumn and winter.

Wedding tomorrow! I love weddings on Fridays! thre day weekend YEOW!

Drunken dancing, crying and fighting!

Good Evening Ladies! Before I blab about my weekend, I wanted to say thanks for all the lovely comments about my last post on jeans. I loved Jen's comment :

How exciting about the baby news! Eeeeep!

You look great in jeans. I think you should embrace them - stop hatin'! ;) xx

Hehehe put a smile on my face Jen. It's funny you say that, as pretty much my whole life I lived in shorts and jeans. I used to HATE dresses and skirts with a passion. It's probably the last few years I've become obsessed with dresses. My Mum is jeans OBSESSED, I think that's where my obsession came from.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I surely did, I had a very interesting one that's for sure. One of my best friends had her hen's party in Sydney on the weekend. One of our friends husband drove a mini bus to Sydney with 12 loud crazy women, he deserves a medal that's for sure. We did the usual on a hen's party, played games and drank alot. We headed to a themed resturant just up the road from our hotel. We got to wear silly hats throught the night and made the most of the alcohol included in our package. Once half the girls from our group starting dancing on the chairs to Beyonce "All the Single ladies!" I knew it was time to head to the clubs. Lets just say the night was filled with laughter, drunken fighting, yelling screaming, and crying in a club. I honestly can say I will NOT be doing that (going out with a large group of girls drinking) for a while or maybe I 'm just a whinging bitch but I thought we were more mature and grown up but obviously after that weekend soome people are not. I'm glad I have certain groups of friends that I know I can go out with and ALWAYS have fun with... Pffft anyway enough of my rant. Here's my outfit  and some other pictures from the night. Sorry for the poor photo of my outfit.

Dress: Anise, Shoes: Lipstick, Gloves: eBay

My one and only besite Stef and I.

ah not sure what happened here but I love it!

Eeeeeewww a veil.

the cool plastic rings all of had to wear with a pretty pink light.

The drag queen and our Hen Natty.

Next to the club we were at as this sign that said "Dogs at the Cross" we were in Sydney's Kings Cross. Ok so it sounded amusing at 1am in the morning to us.

Now this Friday is the wedding! Eeeeekkk I'm so excited, I am going to ball my eyes out when I see her in her dress so I better pack tissues. She's been acting cool saying we are losers because we are going to cry. I ALWAYS cry at weddings...Don't you?
