I think it's time I had my rant about other fashion bloggers. You know what really PISSES me off? When ungrateful fashion bloggers whinge, whine and bloody bitch because:
1. They don't have a million followers.
When I first started I didn't think I would even have 20 followers. I am happy with my 149 followers, if I get more well FANTASTIC! :) Yeah people have stopped following my blog but I don't question myself or my blog. Be grateful with how many followers you have...is this a popularity contest? Is this high school? The more friends you have you're cooler? Pffft ladies please!
2. They don't have a million comments from followers.
I was a follower of one certain blog and she had at least over a thousand followers. She was only getting a few comments a post. She then proceeded to whinge and whine that hardly anyone was commenting and that she going to stop blogging. I decided to stop following her. Do we need that much encouragement and attention from others to make ourselves feel so much better?
These bloggers that are complaining are the ones that have a large amount of followers, have sponsors and countless giveaway's! Arrrgggghh! You are clogging up important space where I could be reading other important blogs that actually are blogging because they love doing it. Not for followers and countless compliments and checking your google analytics constantly.
This is been on my chest for quite some time. I thought that everyone had their viewed on blogging and theres bloody mine!!!
amen sista! heehee. you should blog about what you want to, because you want to, and if someone likes it enough to follow or comment, that's just the added bonus! I need to keep that in mind myself more. MY blog, ME, not someone elses.

ReplyDeleteNow let me vent a little.. some fashion bloggers are really good, some not so much. Oh well, it's a free world and anyone can blog, right? Absolutely. But I get sick every time I read the kissing-ass over the top sucking up over sugary comments... I mean come on?? What is this, sucking up to the popular kids??
Some bloggers moderate their comments, and they ONLY aprove the overly sweet ones. Ask me how I know. Some fashion bloggers call themselves "style-guru".. way off. But oh well I guess.
They also do give-aways. I've won such a giveaway once.. guess what, they don't actually send stuff.
There are very few bloggers (not just fashion bloggers) that are not blogging only to get followers and comments. Everyone else, like you said, are in it to blow their egos and get popular. So high school, get fucking over it.
Sorry, I'm pretty pissed myself. Thanks for pointing this out, trust me many of us feel the same.
I have 69 (ha, I'm a child)followers. I'm happy with that. Plus I like the interaction better. I have my favourites which I frequent and have some repoir with.

I don't really mind about followers/comments (just as well!) especially people who just do it so you will follow them and make them look more popular (see comments like *come check out my blog* etc etc) It's such a fun thing to do anyway I just love all the inspiration I can gain from other girls through blogging! xx

ReplyDeleteOnly did a giveaway once when I reached 100 followers, just to say thanks to them. It wasn't anything fantastic but just a little gift.
It does make you feel mad when some bloggers moan about things like that, but I suppose the more you get the more you want.

Lol this has made me laugh, i totally agree with you. Its nice that anyone follows me. I went quite a while at the start with no followers but i kept on going because i enjoy it.

ReplyDeleteI hate when people are like, I need 'x' number of followers and moan when they don't get comments.
I try not to, and I hope I dont. I love my comments though, and I think its a highlight of posting something, I try and comment on other peoples as much as possible for that reason though.
I try not to worry about what others do too much now, I just get on with it. I enjoy my blog & I think thats the main thing

ReplyDeleteYay. Thankfully other people still see the real reason for blogging. I don't know when blogging turned into a popularity contest, hunting down followers and trying to become famous... I find the blogs about brining in a bigger audience to your blog ridiculous and hilarious at the same time!
